In order to describe activities in the moment, we use the named "simple present". We also use it to describe: facts, present situations, to tell how much times do we do some kind of activity and to speak about schedules and programs.
Examples:
Water boils at 100ºC - El agua hierva a 100ºC
I often go to the supermarket on Saturday (Para decir cuanto a menudo hacemos las cosas)-A menudo los Sabados voy al supermercado.
The film starts at 5 o’clock. (horario)- La película empieza a las 5.
I live in London (Situaciones permanentes) -Vivo en Londres.
FORMS with substantive:
I work
You work
He/she/it works
You work
We work
They work
When we talk in third person (He, She, It), we add a "s" at the end of the verb.
Example:
He lives in Sheffield.
If the verb finishes with ’o’ we must add ‘es’
Go - goes
Do - does
If the verb finishes with ‘y’ we must add ‘ies’
Carry - carries
Hurry - hurries
Worry – worries
For the other verbs, we only use ‘s’
Eat - eats
Sleep – sleeps
Work – works
We use do/does in order to ask questions.
Do you live in London?
We only use does with the substantives he/she/it , for the rest, only do.
